German Democratic Republic (GDR) used to, when there were two German states, be called East Germany. The two states united in 1990 when GDR were incorporated into FRG and ceased to exist. |

This plate belongs to same series and design as above, but with three letters as introduced in 1976. Red seal was used from 1987. This plate is issued in town Suhl in bezirk Suhl. After GDR ceased to exist in 1990 their plates were valid until end 1992. |
